MUSIC GENERAL EFFECT
Nick Riley Hometown: Perrysburg, OH
A native of Centerville, Ohio, Nick Riley has been involved in the marching arts
as a performer, instructor, composer/arranger, consultant, and adjudicator since
2003. Nick is a 2011 graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio where
he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education.
Nick is currently in his eighth year as Director of Bands for Liberty Center Local
Schools in northwest Ohio where he teaches all aspects of the band program,
grades 5 through 12. Nick is a prolific composer/arranger for the marching arts
as Founder/President of NPR Marching Concepts
(www.nprmarchingconcepts.com), a web-based marching arts music design
business. Since 2007, Nick has composed nearly 500 works for over 60
ensembles across the United States and South America.
In the winter months, Nick is extremely involved with the indoor percussion
activity as a composer/arranger, instructor, consultant, and administrator for
numerous ensembles nationwide. Nick is the co-founder of ConneXus, a
Percussion Independent World ensemble from Delaware, Ohio, where he is
currently the President of the ConneXus Performing Arts Association, Inc., the
Development Coordinator for the organization, and a Front Ensemble
Instructor. ConneXus is a 4-time WGI Regional Champion and a 4-time WGI
World Championships Finalist.
Previously, Nick has served as Assistant Visual Caption Head for Legends
